Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the questions we hear most often before an inquiry. If yours is not listed, please feel free to ask.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, we do. This is not a sales meeting. It is a session to help you organize the challenge you are facing, and to explore together what is possible with data and technology.

What does the free consultation include?

We help clarify your current challenge, assess the potential of using data or building a system, and outline an initial roadmap for how to proceed. Where appropriate, we briefly share recommendations on technology choices. Proposals and quotes are produced only afterward, if you request them.

How long does the free consultation take?

Typically 30 to 60 minutes. If the topics are many, sharing your discussion points in advance helps us go deeper within the time. Both shorter and longer sessions can be arranged.

What kinds of topics can we discuss?

Anything technology-related — from small fixes such as improving an Excel file to large initiatives such as company-wide DX. Business systems, data utilization, AI adoption, websites and internal applications, second opinions on existing vendors, and so on. It is fine if you are still unsure what you want to do. Please note that even when we accept a consultation, depending on timing the members specializing in that area may already be engaged elsewhere, in which case we may not be able to take on the engagement afterward.

Can I consult even without decision-making authority?

Of course. In many cases, the initial information gathering is led by people in operations or IT. We welcome consultations aimed at clarifying technical direction before approval — up to two free sessions per engagement.

Will a salesperson visit after the consultation?

We do not engage in proactive sales outreach. We do not follow up after a consultation. Please contact us only when you would like to take the next step.

When do fees begin?

After the free consultation, we provide a proposal and quote on request. Fees begin only after you explicitly approve starting the project. There are no hidden costs or automatic renewals.

Are there engagements you will not take on?

Yes. Please see the "Philosophy / What We Decline" page for details. Aligning on expectations in advance leads, in our experience, to better engagements.
